Ashleigh Whaley

Hi, I am Ashleigh Whaley and this is how my passions became by blog….

My husband and I were married for 14 years, before we were blessed with 2 miracle babies! Wow! This made us stop and, think and ask…… “How can we bring these precious gifts up to honor God?”

It all begins with FAITH……..

Our relationship with the Lord is both the foundation and the platform for our journey through life. We know that without Him we would be lost.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Faith if followed by FAMILY

Family is very precious and a gift from God. God doesn’t make mistakes so everything we have from marriage to children are all blessings from above. We embrace that!

Family is followed by the FARM.

We come from generations of farmers and are passionate about it. Therefore we love the farm life and all it provides for our family. The farm provides us with a home for our other passion, HORSES.

Finally it’s time for FUN!

Fun happens for us, with the above in place. We have a wonderful and exciting life as a family.

The conclusion is the birth of “Faith4fun!”

Faith4fun will provide you with a ‘go to’ resource for practical tips, with Biblical wisdom, about how to nurture and homeschool your children God’s way. Many people ask me how and why we homeschool our children. Faith4fun has been created to help and guide others along the homeschooling path.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to keep the Lord in the center of the family- and allow Him guide us through each and everyday. Through Him we shall reach our goals and dreams.

I can do everything through him, (Christ) who gives me strength.

Philipians 4: 13. (NIV)

Our life’s journey:

History:

Douglas and I, Ashleigh, have been married for 23 years. We both qualified with Diplomas in Agriculture from the Royal Agricultural University, in the UK. We have lived most of our lives in Zimbabwe, where we have been through many trials and tribulations. We have been through a Bush War and have lost our family farms, homes and livelihood, through Zimbabwe’s land acquisition policy. This resulted in us having to start again, with very little in the bank. Subsequently we now live on a farm, which is run by a corporate company, Douglas works as their farm general manager. I have the privilege of being a stay at home mum.

Homeschooling:

Homeschooling became necessary, due to the farm’s distance from the nearest good schools. Eight years ago I started homeschooling our children, -a daughter and a son. I started from Grade 0 (kindergarten) and had not much idea of what I was doing, which required a huge step on faith!

I have embraced the responsibility for our children’s education, all round development and sport activities. It is demanding, hard work, but the joy from the experience is so amazing, that I just had to start to share it!

Knowing that the Lord is guiding us makes it so much easier and I have really learnt to enjoy the ‘here and now’.

Our future will be built on today’s foundations.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow , for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6 vs 34. (NIV)
