Activities.
Homeschool:
When Murray John arrives at school with his bears on his head you know that he is feeling sick…… school has to be abandoned for the day.
We continued school for the first two weeks in April. Once Easter arrived we took a break, to have fun with our visiting family from Botswana.
We took a field trip, in early April, to visit a Farming Equipment Display. It was most exciting to see such huge farming equipment.
Homeschool Art:
Paula Joy, Murray John and their two cousins made award rosettes for the fun, horse gymkhana we had on the farm.
Horses:
April saw the start of the polo season. It is fun to play a sport where, as a family, we can compete together. Much work goes into preparing the horses and lots of polo practice tales place on the farm.

Easter saw cousins arriving for riding lessons, out rides and a fun horse gymkhana. The month of April ended up becoming a wonderful horsey month!
Homeschool Sport:
We changed sports from tennis to golf, in April, as both Murray John and Paula Joy have suffered from sore feet. In place of tennis, golf lessons were enjoyed, along with a 18 hole golf tournament, which the children both managed to complete, whilst improving their golfing skills.
Gym lessons continued for half of April before the Easter break.
Adventures.
Farm Life:
The first wheat was planted this month so the children spent time in the tractor learning how to plant wheat.
We had an enormous storm in mid-April which resulting in all the horse stables being flooded, so we spent time making sure that the horses were comfortable, fed and watered.
Once the Botswana family arrived loads of activities happened……We enjoyed fun walks, horse riding, cycling, boating, and evening dinners on ‘The Rock’, overlooking one of the farm dams.
Watch Murray John skiing on the farm dam:
Such a wonderful way to spend the weekend! The weather has been perfect for riding horses and boating, so the speed boat was put on the dam for fun skiing and tubing, followed by a delicious dinner, under a full moon. Absolutely stunning!
